About the Fanie Botha Trail
Established in the 1970s, the Fanie Botha Trail is a national hiking heritage. It follows a spectacular ridge along the Drakensberg escarpment near Sabie in Mpumalanga.
The trail links a chain of SAFCOL forest reserves and passes several of the province's most-photographed waterfalls. Overnight huts break the trail into comfortable multi-day stages.
